Melody Monkey’s Marvellous Music Box
Sound Clips

Here are three extracts from the CD of songs that comes with Melody Monkey's Marvellous Music Box, performed by Phil Lenthall, Caroline Gilderdale and Bethany Seymour. All clips are in the MP3 file format. If you experience any difficulties playing the sound clips click here for help.

1. From CD Track 3: Hello, how are you?
You can demonstrate this song using one puppet on each hand - one puppet 'sings' the first line, and the other answers. You can also invite individual children to reply to the question. Aims: to encourage individual singing, to listen hard and learn to take turns and to develop an understanding of phrases (musical sentances) through question and answer.

2. From CD Track 18: Little Johnny dances
This is an action song from France. Use a puppet to dance on thumbs, arms and heads in time to the pulse. Aims: To develop locomotor co-ordination and to feel the pulse through the actions.

3. From CD Track 20: I wiggle my fingers
A very useful rhyme for calming down a group of children after a lively song. Wiggle fingers, toes, shoulders and nose in time with the chant. On the last line stand very still with your arms folded.
